Hivewell? …wait…isn’t that H.I.V.E.M.I.N.D.? one of the teased PV02 antagonists from long ago?

  2. Ghost_Writer says:

If I had to guess, the memory wipe was one of the defense systems. She had the data before, but it got wiped before these guys caught up to her and then subsequently disposed of her. Her creator was protecting someone, but why…?

Pivot, my bot girl, you have some clues to investigate.

  3. Knightshade86 says:

so was that the old police guy from the previous chapter, the one who ordered the hit with the recoilless rifle?

  4. Judeo says:

    [Trailer-like sequence]

    Pivot:
    “Creator’s Defense Systems?”
    “Lost Equipment?”
    “Hivewell? Who is he?”
    “What is going on?”

    Dun dun DUN!

  7. Cinex says:

So, did Pivot simply not remember what happened after her activation or did she lose those memories because of the EMP?

    1. robnot says:

Because of “memory wipe”, EMP’s , an memory analog of original girl.. four possible out comes of memory loss..
ONE : one time quick wipe of memory,, destroys header code, so rest of memory is there. just not normally accessible..
TWO: EMP’s demagnetize random blocks of memory, which makes that block inaccessible..
THREE: memory degradation due to time an forced restarts..
      and no scheduled defrags..
FOUR: Bios bootstrapping over write ..during a forced restart , the bios bleeds into the ROM(usually a EEPROM) if the ROM has been reset.. night security showing off his new “ultraviolet” flashlight , reset a whole sever bank of EEPROMs and when they restarted in the morning,, all kinds of memory fails…

        English, please x_x

        1. Knightshade86 says:

That was English just sprinkled with a little bit of tech slang

        2. robnot says:

that was english,, and short form.. humm,, how an why Pivot has memory loss ,, there are three types of machine memory.. ROM = read only memory. permanent, will only go away with extreme measures.. but Very tiny.. (1meg)
RAM = random access memory. memory buffer between hard drive an mother board,, don’t count in this case,. if broken, would not work at all..
HARD DRIVE = the semi permanent memory.. because of how the memory is stored is very fragile , glitchy , an error prone.!! hence the 1,2,3. memory problems described..
and HOW she has some memories is #4,, some how, at or just before memory wipe, memory fragments got written into the eprom (a type of rom) , an because of ROM size only small key bits could be written..
